Aimee + Chris | Hylands House wedding
I knew Aimee and Chris’ Hylands House wedding was going to be good by the sheer giddy excitement that was leading up to it! This was a real Chelmsford-fest of a wedding, with us all being Chelmsford residents, and both the ceremony and reception being held in Chelmsford too, at Hylands House and Lion House at the Lion Inn, in Boreham.
Aimee and Chris had chosen to get a red routemaster double decker bus to transport their guests to and from the venues (which all the best wedding couples do, because we did on our wedding day too!), and Aimee had been spoilt for choice when choosing her dress, as at the time she worked in a bridal shop, so had the run of the aisles! (Take a look at Aimee’s Kate Spade shoes in the photos below – they are rabbits!!)
The day started with Aimee and her bridesmaids getting ready at her parents house, with the bridal prep interspersed with singing along to the Lizzie McGuire Movie (a “classic”, as someone uniquely put it), and once hair and make up was done, the ladies zoomed over to Hylands House to finish getting ready and get the show on the road. Once Chris had arrived just ahead of the guests, the ceremony was underway, and to call it emotional is a bit of an understatement! (Thankfully happy tears.)
Though there was a bit of a drizzle during the day, it couldn’t dampen the giddiness for this pair, and you know it’s a good day when someone brings a dog into the photos too.
Their reception at Lion House again was a rollercoaster of emotions, not least when Aimee gave a speech following her dad and husband, and whilst I suspect it was meant to be heartfelt, it was actually pretty hilarious, and poor old Chris nearly got forgotten in it! By the end there wasn’t a dry eye in the house (happiness/hilarity) and the new Mr and Mrs Allen celebrated into the night.
