Rachael + Frank | Mayland Wedding
I’ve got a beaut of a wedding for you here! It was only a couple of months prior to their wedding day when Rachael and Frank got in touch with me; they were having their wedding ceremony at St Barnabas church in Mayland before heading back to Latchingdon for their reception, and their other wedding suppliers were all friends or family. So by association I’m assuming I’m now a friend or part of the family – either way, Rachael and Frank made me feel incredibly welcome on their day. Rachael and Frank met whilst studying at Writtle Agricultural college, and a few weeks before their big day we’d done their pre-wedding shoot around Writtle green, which you can see HERE. These guys had been so much fun on their pre-shoot, I knew their wedding day was going to be special!
I started at Rachael’s grandparent’s house where she was getting ready with her mum and 8 (yes, 8) bridesmaids. Once Rachael was in her dress, she headed downstairs for the great reveal to her grandparents, who were suitably emotional! In actual fact, emotions were running high for most of the day, as I can hand on heart say I’ve never seen a groom cry so much with tears of joy! When he saw Rachael head up the aisle on the arm of her dad, the old waterworks started and were difficult to stop! (Sorry Frank.)
Following the ceremony we had a few photos outside the church in gale-force winds, quite possibly the windiest wedding day I’ve ever experienced, and so the weather forced us to beat a retreat back to Latchingdon, whereupon the bridesmaids got to ride in a stretch Hummer! I was jealousssssss!!
Back at the Jack’s Centre where they held their reception, it had been decked out in lovely fairy lights and decorations that reflected their shared interest of animals and nature, and following a relaxed dinner and heartwarming speeches, the new Mr & Mrs wowed everyone with a choreographed first dance which was brilliant! Sometimes choreographed first dances are a bit.. well, you know.. but this was so good!!
Everything about this day was just great, not just because Rachael and Frank are such complete legends. This was my penultimate wedding of 2017 and I felt super chuffed about winding the year up with these guys along the way! Scroll below and enjoy a selection of photographs from their day 🙂
