Lisa + Richard | Houchins Wedding
Lisa and Richard’s wedding day had seemed a long time coming – and it did not disappoint! I first met Lisa and Richard last August to discuss the plan for their April wedding at Houchins in Coggeshall and in between then we’d experienced a cricketing accident, a pre-wedding shoot at a disused railway station and some very changeable weather but on 30th April, the weather gods were smiling on us.
Lisa and her ladies had stayed overnight at Houchins’ gorgeous grade II listed farmhouse, and were up at the crack of dawn on an absolutely stonkingly bright and sunny Spring day. It was surprisingly calm whilst everyone got ready, but once the gents’ VW camper transported them into the grounds, crunching up the driveway, the fizz was broken out to calm some burgeoning bridal nerves! (See the shots below for one of my particular favourites where Lisa sees her Dad for the first time since putting her dress on. If it doesn’t melt your heart, you’re made of stone!)
As the chaps gathered into the marquee for the ceremony, Lisa and her Dad made their way up the aisle and I’m not sure there was a dry eye in the house. This was repeated after dinner where Richard’s very obvious relief and jubilation at making Lisa his wife made for an emotional and heartfelt speech. Dinner was accompanied by magician Michael J. Fitch who left everyone amazed with his wizardry and trickery – see below for some classic ‘no way!’ moments.
As the sun went down over Houchins, the new Mr and Mrs Gray danced the night away with their family and other guests, and I headed home with memory cards bursting with beautiful shots from the whole day. Here are just a few of the moments from their special day:
